UEFA has confirmed the match officials that will take charge of its three major men’s club competition finals this month, with Germany’s Daniel Siebert appointed to referee the 2026 UEFA Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal FC in Budapest.
The UEFA Referees Committee announced that the 42-year-old German official will oversee the European showpiece at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest on May 30, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 CEST. It will mark Siebert’s first UEFA club competition final since becoming an international referee in 2015.
Siebert has handled nine UEFA Champions League fixtures this season, including Arsenal’s quarter-final first-leg clash against Sporting CP and the semi-final second leg involving Arsenal and Atlético de Madrid. He also officiated the 2025 UEFA Europa League semi-final between Manchester United and Athletic Club, in addition to appearances at both UEFA EURO 2020 and UEFA EURO 2024.
UEFA also confirmed that Italian referee Maurizio Mariani will take charge of the 2026 UEFA Conference League final between Crystal Palace FC and Rayo Vallecano de Madrid. The match will be played at Leipzig Stadium in Leipzig on May 27.
The 44-year-old Mariani, an international referee since 2019, will officiate his first UEFA club final after previously serving as fourth official in last season’s UEFA Europa League final in Bilbao. During the current campaign, he has overseen seven UEFA Champions League matches, including the quarter-final second leg between Liverpool FC and Paris Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile, French referee François Letexier has been selected to officiate the 2026 UEFA Europa League final between SC Freiburg and Aston Villa at Beşiktaş Park in Istanbul on May 20.
Letexier, 37, has continued his rapid rise among Europe’s elite officials since becoming an international referee in 2017. The Frenchman officiated the UEFA EURO 2024 final between Spain and England and also handled the 2023 UEFA Super Cup clash involving Manchester City and Sevilla FC. This season, he has refereed eight Champions League matches, including Arsenal’s quarter-final return leg against Sporting CP.
