Arsenal have been officially crowned the 2025/26 Premier League champions, securing their first English top-flight title in 22 years after rivals Manchester City could only manage a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The Gunners entered the final week of the season with an unassailable lead after their 1-0 victory over relegated Burnley on Monday, where Kai Havertz scored the decisive goal. Manchester City needed a win at the Vitality Stadium to keep the title race alive heading into the final matchday, but the draw confirmed Arsenal’s triumph with one game to spare.
Arsenal sit atop the Premier League table with 82 points from 37 matches, recording 25 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses, while boasting the league’s best defensive record with just 26 goals conceded and a goal difference of +43. Manchester City trail by four points and can no longer catch Mikel Arteta’s side.
This victory marks Arsenal’s fourth Premier League title and their 14th English league championship overall. It comes after three consecutive seasons as runners-up, including a heartbreaking near-miss in 2023/24. The last time the North London club lifted the Premier League trophy was during the legendary 2003/04 Invincibles campaign under Arsène Wenger.
Mikel Arteta, the former Arsenal captain who has masterminded the club’s resurgence, becomes the first Gunners manager to win the Premier League since Wenger. Celebrations erupted among players and fans, with footage showing squad members chanting and jumping in delight as the news filtered through. The club will formally lift the trophy after their final fixture against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
