The Judicial Commission of Inquiry established by the Oyo State Government to investigate the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area has called on members of the public to submit written memoranda to assist its investigation into the incident.
The Commission is seeking information, evidence and other relevant materials from individuals and organisations with knowledge of the abduction, as it works to establish the facts surrounding one of the state’s most disturbing security incidents.
According to a public notice issued by the Commission, submissions should cover the circumstances leading to the abduction, the security situation before, during and after the incident, the response of relevant security and government authorities, as well as recommendations that could help prevent similar occurrences in the future.
The Commission urged anyone with relevant information to include their full names, contact details and supporting documents or other materials where applicable when submitting memoranda.
The Commission fixed August 14, 2026, as the deadline for the submission of memoranda.
All submissions are to be addressed to The Secretary, Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the Abduction of Students and Teachers in Esinele and Yawota Communities, Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State.
