The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a sophisticated indoor cannabis farm at a residential property in Apapa, arresting a 49-year-old Polish national and a 36-year-old Nigerian in connection with the operation.
The suspects were arrested on Monday, November 2, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation carried out by police operatives following information received about suspected drug-related activities at the property.
The command identified the suspects as Thomas Razvickas, 49, a Polish national, and James Chisome, 36, a Nigerian. Both men were said to be residents of the searched address.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the police said officers who searched the premises discovered a sophisticated indoor farming facility equipped for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of substances suspected to be cannabis.
The discovery was made at about 8:15 a.m. on Monday, according to the statement.
The police described the facility as a high-tech indoor cannabis farm, although the substances recovered have yet to be independently confirmed through forensic examination.

The two suspects are currently in police custody, with the command saying they have made confessional statements and are providing information to assist ongoing investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, subsequently visited the property to inspect the facility, assess the scale of the suspected operation and receive a briefing from investigators.
Fatai commended the operatives for what he described as effective intelligence-led policing and reaffirmed the command’s determination to tackle drug-related offences and dismantle criminal networks operating in the state.
He also acknowledged the role of members of the public in providing information to the police, urging residents to continue reporting credible intelligence that could help prevent and detect criminal activities.
The discovery adds to the police command’s efforts to combat suspected drug-related activities in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub, where law enforcement agencies continue to target criminal networks through intelligence gathering and operational raids.
The command said it remained committed to ensuring that Lagos did not become a safe haven for criminal activities.
Investigations into the suspected indoor cannabis operation are ongoing. The police have not disclosed the quantity of suspected cannabis recovered, the estimated value of the facility, how long it had been operating or whether the suspects were connected to a wider drug distribution network.
Further details are expected as investigators establish the nature and scale of the operation and prepare the case for possible prosecution.
